Jodide’Melo

Political Non-Profit Compliance Paralegal

Jodi DeMelo plays an integral role in the firm’s political and non-profit compliance division, where she oversees the creation, management, and regulatory guidance of political action committees, 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) organizations, and other advocacy-based entities. Her work bridges law, strategy, and public service – helping clients operate confidently within the complex intersection of politics, fundraising, and compliance.

Drawing on more than two decades of administrative, financial, and organizational experience, Jodi is known for her precision, professionalism, and deep understanding of the systems that keep high-impact operations running smoothly. Before joining Bivalacqua Gelé + Ellis, she held leadership and administrative roles in the non-profit, ministry, and business sectors – directing large-scale events, managing multi-property real estate investments, and supporting executive leadership across multiple states.

Jodi’s experience in public-facing and mission-driven organizations  gives her a rare ability to balance compliance and creativity – ensuring every detail aligns with both legal standards and the broader goals of transparency and community engagement.

Originally from New Orleans and of Brazilian heritage, Jodi brings both southern warmth and global perspective to her work. She now calls Mandeville home, where she continues to blend her professional precision with a strong sense of community connection.

Outside the office, Jodi is often found at fundraising galas and civic events, where her enthusiasm for bringing people together shines through. She’s as comfortable managing campaign filings as she is networking in a room full of local leaders – a testament to her energy, style, and ease in any setting.
