Jennifer Drown is an associate attorney at Bivalacqua Gelé + Ellis. She began her legal career in 2003 after earning her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her early practice focused on intellectual property and commercial litigation in Florida state and federal courts, with additional pro hac vice admissions in California and New York. In 2011, Jen stepped away from the practice of law to relocate near her aging father and raise her family. She returned to the legal field in 2023 and resumed practicing law in 2026.

Jen is the writer attorneys turn to when a case comes down to the brief. Her practice emphasizes dispositive motions, appellate briefs, and extraordinary writs, with particular attention to complex legal questions, meticulous record analysis, and persuasive advocacy. A registered patent attorney with experience in multiple intellectual property jury and bench trials in Florida, Jen brings a trial lawyer’s perspective to appellate practice. Her litigation background includes patent and trademark disputes, claim construction, complex motion practice, and trial and post-trial briefing.

Licensed to practice in Louisiana and Florida, Jen is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is actively expanding her appellate practice and welcomes opportunities to collaborate with trial counsel on complex briefing or to handle civil appeals and writ applications through final disposition.

When she isn’t writing, Jen can be found enjoying board games or video games with her husband and children, playing with the family hound dog, crafting, painting, or tending her plants.
